A project I undertake every January documenting my children.

She had decided that she wanted to learn to sew. After making a little skirt for a fairy from leaves, she wanted to try one for herself.

My Mum said she would spend the day with her and teach her to sew, so off to the fabric shop we went to choose the ever important fabric for her ‘fairy skirt’.

After much deliberation we came away with rose fabric, and she also picked fabric for a skirt for her sister. She loved every minute.

We spent a wonderful day at GOMA (gallery of modern art) They are celebrating their 10th birthday with ‘Sugar Spin’.

The girls loved the multi-coloured synthetic hair that hung from everywhere by Icelandic-born artist Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir a.k.a. Shoplifter. They also braved Carsten Höller’s huge slide which sent them spiralling from the top, down 3 floors to the bottom.

I had lots of photos to choose from, but I really enjoyed this piece by Ron Mueck,  ‘In bed’. It was fascinating, I could have stared at it for ages.

Our neighbours had been given a fairy floss machine for Christmas and all the kids have ben enjoying fairy floss in their front yard of an afternoon. (not all afternoons, much to their disappointment)

You can imagine Blake’s surprise when he found one for sale at the shops. After wondering around deciding what he could spend his gift card on, he decided that this was the perfect choice.

The black scruffy looking thing is Coco the Cavoodle, who is not meant to be on my bed. I think Rose coaxed her up there, then proceeded to smother her with affection. Cute and cheeky, the both of them;-)
