It was this one’s turn to go to Dee-Dee’s house to do something fun, and she picked baking! Cupcakes, cookies and pikelets were on the menu.  She had a plan though, and did this little drawing before she left – how cute! (Apparently she was very good at licking the bowl;-))

On the sewing theme, I thought I would show the girls some of my Japanese sewing books from many moons ago. They both got busy bookmarking pages of the things they wanted to make. Guess I better dust off the sewing machine!

Oh my goodness, I think we picked the hottest day ever to go roller skating in a tin shed (roller skating rink) with no air-conditioning!

Might have to convert them to ice skating in the summer months, much cooler there.

They love it, the skating, the heat, not so much.

She had decided that she wanted to learn to sew. After making a little skirt for a fairy from leaves, she wanted to try one for herself.

My Mum said she would spend the day with her and teach her to sew, so off to the fabric shop we went to choose the ever important fabric for her ‘fairy skirt’.

After much deliberation we came away with rose fabric, and she also picked fabric for a skirt for her sister. She loved every minute.
